Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the most common questions I’ve been asked about wellness coaching and the services I provide. If you still have questions after reading through the FAQs, please give me a call or send me an email, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

What is Coaching?

"Health and Wellness Coaches partner with clients seeking self-directed, lasting changes, aligned with their values, which promote health and wellness and, thereby, enhance well-being.  In the course of their work health and wellness coaches display unconditional positive regard for their clients and a belief in their capacity for change, and honoring that each client is an expert on his or her life, while insuring that all interactions are respectful and non-judgmental" (National Consortium for Credentialing Health and Wellness Coaches)

As a coach I act as a partner and guide.  The process will help you learn about yourself and the areas where you would like to be supported, encouraged, and set measurable goals..  Coaching is not a substitute for mental health counseling.  I do not diagnose or treat mental or physical illness, and may refer a client to outside professionals when appropriate.

What is the free discovery session?

I offer a free 20 minute phone session to learn about your wellness concerns and desires, and to further discuss the coaching process and additional questions you may have.  Coaching is not therapy and this call is also an opportunity to make sure that my services will be the best fit for you or your adolescent.  I want you to feel excited and ready for the life changing experience that coaching can provide..

What is a private coaching session like, and how often is coaching recommended?

Our first self-awareness/wellness assessment session lasts about 60 minutes, and the follow-up targeted habit forming/goal setting sessions are 30-40 minutes. All sessions are conducted through phone call or Video as requested.  Coaching is a collaborative process, where client's are encouraged to be open and reflective about their concerns and future goals.  Though client's may be working toward some short term goals, those willing to take small steps over time will establish the skills and habits most related to longterm success. Client's are generally most successful with regular sessions (at least twice/month) for the first 3-6 months.

How much do you charge?

Coaching is best conducted over a period of at least 3 months in order to identify, create and work toward new habits and goals.  Coaching can transform self-awareness, shift mindset and create powerful habits for overall success and wellbeing.  Growth doesn't happen overnight which is why I suggest a minimum three month commitment for best results.  Please reach out to me for additional information about individual sessions and package pricing.
